Terms of Service
Last updated: August 25, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PDF Signature Maker ("the App"), developed by Hugo Software Ltd. The App is available as an Android app and as a web app at sign.bnj.app. By using either, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the App does
The App lets you add a visual, hand-drawn signature image to PDF documents stored on your device and export the result. That processing happens on your device. On the web, the App additionally lets you request a signature from someone else — see clause 5.
2. Not a certified e-signature
The App produces a visual signature stamp only. It does not create a qualified, advanced, or certified electronic signature, does not verify identity, and does not apply cryptographic signing. Whether a visually signed document is legally sufficient depends on your jurisdiction and the context — you are responsible for confirming this before relying on it.
3. Free tier
Signing a document and exporting it is free. The free tier exports a watermarked copy at reduced resolution and is limited to smaller documents (the current limits are shown in the App). One open signature request at a time is also free. No account and no payment details are required.
4. Premium subscription
Premium unlocks watermark-free export at original quality, full document capacity, and unlimited signature requests. It is an auto-renewing subscription, billed through a different provider depending on where you use the App.
4.1 Android app (Google Play)
Premium is a weekly auto-renewing subscription charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in Google Play → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy. Signature requests are a web feature and are not part of the Android app.
4.2 Web app (Stripe)
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Plans and prices are shown at checkout before you confirm; you choose a weekly, monthly, or yearly plan.
- Every web subscription starts with a 24-hour free trial. Payment details are collected when you start the trial, but nothing is charged during it.
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins automatically and the plan price is charged. It then renews at the end of each period until cancelled.
- Cancelling: open the billing portal from the App (button next to your licence code), or email support with your licence code. Cancelling during the trial means you are never charged. Cancelling later stops future renewals; access continues to the end of the period already paid for.
- No account is created. Your subscription is tied to a licence code (
SIGN-…) shown in the App. Keep it: it is how you restore Premium on another device or browser. Losing it does not cancel the subscription — email support and we will help you recover it.
5. Signature requests (web)
When you create a signature request, the App uploads your document to our server so that the person you send the link to can open it. The following applies:
- The document is encrypted in your browser before upload, and the decryption key is carried only in the link you share. We do not receive that key and cannot read the document. If you lose the link and your browser's local data, the document cannot be recovered — by you or by us.
- Anyone holding the link can open and sign the document. You alone decide who receives it, and you are responsible for sending it only to the intended signer.
- We keep an audit trail of when the request was created, opened and signed, together with the IP address and browser user-agent of the device involved, and show it to you. It records what we can observe; it is not proof of anyone's identity.
- The encrypted files and the audit trail are deleted 30 days after the request is created, or immediately when you delete the request. There is no backup.
- We do not send e-mail on your behalf. Sharing the link is entirely up to you.
- On the free tier the signed document is returned watermarked, and you may have one open request at a time. Premium removes both limits.
- You must not use signature requests to obtain a signature by deception, or to send documents you have no right to distribute. We may remove content and block use that breaks this clause or the law.
6. Refunds (web subscriptions)
- You are never charged during the 24-hour trial, so cancelling in that window costs nothing.
- If a renewal is charged and you have not used Premium in that period, email [email protected] within 14 days with your licence code and we will refund it.
- Otherwise, charges for a period already in progress are not refundable.
- Nothing here limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer, including any right of withdrawal under the law of your country.
7. Price changes
We may change subscription prices. Any change applies only to periods beginning after we notify you, and never retroactively. If you do not accept a new price, cancel before the next renewal.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App to forge signatures, misrepresent the execution of documents, or otherwise break the law. You are solely responsible for the documents you sign and share.
9. Intellectual property
The App, its design, and its branding are the property of Hugo Software Ltd. Your documents and signatures remain yours; we claim no rights over them. Documents you sign yourself never reach us, and documents in a signature request reach us only in encrypted form.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or that exported documents will meet any particular legal standard.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hugo Software Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including damages arising from reliance on a visually signed document or on a signature-request audit trail.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. The current version is always available at this page.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
